Why We Exist
Discover Our Journey So Far
At Expedition Health Corps, our story is rooted in the belief that access to healthcare and education is not a privilege but a fundamental human right. We exist to bridge the gap between opportunity and inequality, transforming lives in communities that need it most.
Oli’s Journey
When I was young, traveling with my mother to East Africa, I expected to feel at home in the land of my ancestors. Instead, I was struck by the stark inequality around me: children walking miles to schools with no books, mothers unable to access life-saving medical care, and families holding onto hope despite overwhelming odds.
Hi, I’m Oli Ogueri, an 18-year-old changemaker and cofounder of Expedition Health Corps. My journey began with a pivotal experience in 4th grade a visit to a Maasai school where children, eager to learn, had almost no resources. That moment planted the seed for my first nonprofit, Youth 4 Global Change, which eventually evolved into Expedition Health Corps.
The loss of my grandmother to a preventable heart condition deepened my resolve. Today, my work is driven by a commitment to ensuring no family has to endure such loss due to inadequate healthcare.

Bruce’s Vision
As a primary healthcare physician in rural southwestern Uganda, I’ve seen firsthand the struggles of our underfunded public healthcare system. Uganda, often called the “Pearl of Africa,” is breathtakingly beautiful but faces immense healthcare challenges.
In underserved areas, patients travel over 200 kilometers seeking basic medical care, often giving up and succumbing to preventable illnesses. After graduating from medical school, I made a choice: to stay in Uganda and be part of the solution.
I co-founded two specialized community clinics, offering essential services like dental care, general surgery, and obstetrics. These clinics have saved countless lives and improved access to quality care for millions. Our next step is to launch robust community outreach programs, bringing healthcare directly to those who need it most.
